Overview

The Software Development Manager will provide technical leadership, vision, direction, and mentorship for the POS software development team. This leader will work closely with the product leadership and client services function to deliver product features and functionalities that align to the product roadmap. He/she will also work in close collaboration with the POS Program Manager and the POS QA team to ensure we properly prioritize and delivery quality releases of our Cloud 9 POS software. While this is a role that requires sophisticated technical acumen and knowledge, it is equally as important that this leader have mature and inspiring leadership skills that enable him/her to lead from the front and help the team grow and shine.

This role will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer of KWI and will have responsibility over the organizational structure, business processes, budget, and end-to-end operations of his/her team.

About the Job

  • Work with product owners and team members to develop goals and strategies for mobile applications and associated web services with emphasis on usability, performance and scalability
  • Responsible for end to end deliverables of critical scenarios
  • Understand customer needs and service architecture
  • Manage, motivate and mentor group of technical C, Swift, and Java developers to deliver high quality code on time
  • Cultivate an agile delivery culture and adhere and champion the ideals of agile and scrum methodology
  • Monitor metrics for productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, quality
  • Implement tools and strategies to increase productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, quality
  • Create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, find ways to deliver more code faster without loss of quality
  • Review and drive architectural improvements
  • Work with other technical managers to assign priorities and distribute efforts
  • Understand and implement industry innovations and best practices
  • Implement and drive coding standards and ensure code reuse
  • Establish and enforce standards for service health, performance, reliability
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement best practices and new tools

About You

  • Ability to multitask with proven tight deadline experience in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Construct basic test plan with knowledge of technical requirements
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, mentor, develop and guide a team of developer professionals, ensuring accountability and personal development
  • Decisive with a sense of urgency to deliver results
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale SAAS implementations
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing product delivery best practices
  • Ability to collaborate, influence others and build consensus and commitment to a recommended direction while managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with an agile or scrum based methodology
  • Effective verbal and written communicator
  • Exceptional and proven leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, computer science, or information systems; or equivalent experience
  • Relevant industry certifications are preferred
  • 5-10+ years of work experience in Software Development and/or Quality Assurance, should be combined with a demonstrated track-record of accomplishments and with satisfying customers in technology-driven, developing companies
  • 5+ years of experience testing Java, Swift, C, SQL, and Unix shell code
  • POS experience is preferred
  • Retail knowledge is preferred
  • Project/program management experience is preferred
